Muscle Car Reviews - 2009 Ford Mustang Coupe and Mustang Shelby GT500

Author: <a title="Tim Jones" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'tim-jones/141096">Tim Jones

More than just being a high performance sports car the 2009 Ford Mustang Coupe is an appealing combination of power and elegance. Ford has succeeded in blending the classic exterior styling of the 1960s with a highly futuristic interior and an array of technological features.

Exterior Styling

It is evident from several 2009 Ford Mustang reviews that experts agree on the styling of the pony car. While the 2009 Ford Mustang coupe exudes coolness in exterior styling the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby versions are more aggressive typical of a muscle car. Ford offers plenty of styling options for both Mustang coupe and convertibles available in four trims - V6 Deluxe, V6 Premium, GT Deluxe and GT Premium. The Ford Mustang convertibles feature a power vinyl top.

The Mustang Shelby editions are more robust now with a fortified chassis. The front sway bar’s diameter of the 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe and convertibles is reduced increasing spring stiffness to allow quicker turn-in on the outward tire.

Interior Comfort

Both the 2009 Ford Mustang coupe and convertible can accommodate four people along with enough storage at the rear cargo. Even though its charcoal black leather seating and aluminum dashboard looks sophisticated the appeal is reduced by excessive use of hard plastic inside the car. The same is applicable for the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 coupe and convertibles except the bold red seams and side bolstering on the seats.

The comfort features in Ford Mustang V6 Deluxe includes keyless access, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a CD player with an additional audio port. The V6 Premium comes with a power driver seat, a Shaker 500 stereo with six-CD changer.

As for Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 convertible and coupe, Deluxe trims feature 18-inch alloy wheels, a front air splitter, a rear spoiler, fog-lamps, cruise control, navigation system, heat extractors, air-conditioning and power driver seat while the Premium edition comes with an additional sport bucket seats with Cobra logos and a Shaker 500 stereo with CD-changer and satellite radio.

Power and Performance

All versions of Ford Mustang are rear-wheel-drive. The 2009 Ford Mustang is equipped with a standard five-speed manual transmission with five-speed automatic as an option. The pony car uses a 4.0L 210Hp V6 producing 240lb-ft of torque.

On the other hand, the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by a 4.6L 300Hp V8 that produces the required thrust to acquire 0 to 60mph in 5.7 seconds. But for Mustang Shelby GT500 a Tremec six-speed manual transmission is the only choice. The Ford muscle cars have 19mpg and 18mpg combined fuel economy respectively.

Safety Features

The 2009 Ford Mustang has four-wheel disc brakes and front-seat side airbags as standard safety features with optional ABS and traction control. The Shelby GT500 features Brembo brakes with ABS and traction control as standard.

Despite absence of electronic stability control all Ford Mustang models have passed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash tests with five stars for front and side impact protection for front seat passenger. The 2009 Ford Mustang Convertible achieved a five star rating in rear side protection as well.

From the 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby reviews one point is clear that competitors like the BMW 128i, Nissan 350Z and Mazda RX-8 are ahead of Ford Mustang in interior styling and handling. This year in 2009, Mustang’s competitors’ line up adds a new contender – the Dodge Challenger available with V6 and V8 powertrains. Nevertheless, somewhere down the line the retro-futuristic design and reasonable pricing lend an extra edge to the 2009 Ford Mustang against their old rivals, the 2010 Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebirds.

Reverse Heel Technology Shoe Holds Several Fitness Benefits

Author: <a title="Jane Simmons" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'jane-simmons/90780">Jane Simmons

MBT sneakers have a curved pivot sole that copies walking on soft moss. The sole turns even, flat ground into uneven terrain. It places more demand on the muscles to work more with every stride. The unique curved sole works by providing instability and makes the muscles of your body more engaged and also helps burn more calories. It challenges the hard to reach muscles in your legs, but also works the abdominal, back, buttock, and thigh muscles. With every stride, the instability activates the whole body in concert and tones as it stimulates different areas. This article describes more in depth the benefits of the MBT shoes.

The shoes are called MBT's, short for Masai Barefoot Technology. It is the first physiological footwear, meaning it benefits the whole structural system of the body, so it's not just working on the feet, but also working on the structural system like circulation and different muscle groups. Arguably, a shoe that is ideal for people with joints problems or those who want a fully body workout, or those that even want to remove cellulite. It doesn't feel like a workout, which is the beauty of the mbt shoe. All you have to do is wear it.

Increased muscle activity - The one-of-a-kind arched bottom provides instability that works more muscles than one might think at first glance. You will soon feel the effects of wearing this footwear in your abdominal, back, buttock, thigh, and lower leg muscles.

A better alignment of the back - The sole is designed as such to help improve your posture and gait by ten degrees. As soon as you put on your MBT shoes, you can expect to feel less back pain and your posture will feel much more aligned.

You will get more results out of your exercise - MBT shoes have technology in the sole design that make your working more efficient and burn more calories. With every step, the instability activates your muscles and the whole body is stimulated as your walk more and more.

Less pressure on feet - As you walk in MBT shoes, pressure is distributed evenly along the whole foot. Most don't realize that every step places 500 pounds of pressure on the body. So having sneakers that can more evenly displace that pressure will make your feet sigh with relief.

Less shock on joints - The unique sole relives a lot of the pressure that one would normally find in a common walking shoe. This means you can walk for extended durations and have less of a recovery period between workouts.

Most shoes go against human nature, which craves instability. But not the MBT shoes. Its benefits make this footwear line a popular choice among avid walkers. The MBT shoe is a perfect partner for all of you that currently have a fitness walking program, or are thinking of beginning one. Walking obviously holds several benefits, but it still produces a lot of wear and tear on the body. In fact, every step you take puts about 500 pounds of pressure on your feet. That's a lot of miles and a lot of pressure. Isn't it worth your while to get all the comfort and support you can? MBT footwear comes in many flavors, based on the time of year and what your needs are. They have a line consisting of sport trainers, MBT Sandals and hiking boots. A perfect fit for all tastes.

Why You Should Buy Music For Running Workouts

Author: <a title="Gen Wright" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'gen-wright/72321">Gen Wright

Music has hidden benefits. It can soothe you, motivate you, anger or depress you. You can find any type of music that will match your mood. If you run then you want to make sure that you stay at a specific heart rate to get the maximum workout while at the same time enjoy yourself. You can be a better runner with some type of music to help spur you on to a higher level. Maybe you have been trying to run a little bit longer or a little bit faster. Music can actually help you do just that.

First you need to make sure that you own an iPod or even a cheap portable dvd player. Either way it won't cost you a lot of money to own this type of equipment. You might already have it. If not it shouldn't cost you less than a hundred dollars to obtain. Next you will need to pick out the type of music that will inspire you. If you don't own any music you can easily buy your favorite album on dvd or download the music from different artists that you like to your iPod. That way while you are running you can listen, and sing along while you are on your treadmill or outside in the open air. Either way you will have your new workout tape.

Music can help you keep at a certain running pace. Have you ever noticed that when you favorite song comes on the radio you might perk up a bit and are actually happier? You can have this same reaction while you are running. When you are happy the strenuous workout won't seem so bad. The time will actually seem to fly right by. This is why it is important that the music you own or purchase to help you run is one that you not only enjoy but love. You could listen to it a thousand times and never get tired of hearing it.

Music is essential to your workout. Even if you don't run but simply walk you will find that it benefits you too. If you are trying to lose weight or stay in shape you have to make sure that your heart is at a high enough rate to stimulate calorie burning. If you are walking or running with no music you might not even break a sweat. But music that is upbeat and not sad and depressing will get you in time with the beat. You will unconsciously stay on beat with the music. You will find that just as your clothing and shoes are a requirement so too is music. It will help keep you in fine running form.

Anyone that is serious about any time of aerobic workout whether it is walking, running, or simply riding your bike needs some form of music to improve themselves. Not only is music a requirement to helping you to attain a better workout, but it will make it more enjoyable as well. So if you aren't currently doing so you should try it the next time you workout to compare. You'll probably never go without your music again.

Using A Stationary Bike Stand for Indoor Cycling

Author: <a title="Terry Doyle" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'terry-doyle/229425">Terry Doyle

Because all those clever fitness and cycling enthusiasts have been evolving fitness equipment every year, you now can take your favorite bike inside and keep on pedaling through the winter. But which stationary bike stand is just the right fit for your particular situation?

They're called either stationary bike stands or stationary bike trainers, but either way they help you setup your bike inside. You'll find three basic choices when you start to consider a stationary bike stand.

You will find the most advanced, perhaps, are stationary bicycle rollers. With these, you place both your wheels atop a set of rollers. This provides a smooth and natural pedal feel, but it also requires balance and concentration. Don't think this is just like going from a stationary bike machine to the same thing on a real bicycle. This time you have to keep your balance as you pedal.

A step down in complexity but perhaps a step up in rigor is the bike trainer. Cycling trainers are bike stands which offer resistance to help you get a better workout. There are three common types of resistance: fluid resistance (the most expensive), air resistance (the least expensive), and magnetic resistance (the most common). Each has their strengths and weaknesses so I suggest you try them out somewhere to decide what feels best for you personally.

The simplest approach you can take is to just use a basic stationary bike stand. This basically just lets you setup your bike indoors but doesn't provide much realism or challenge. It is, however, the cheapest and easiest to setup.

Whichever method you choose, be sure to try it out in a fitness store or department store before you plunk down your cash. Different people prefer different setups, and sometimes they're surprised by what they prefer after they actually try pedaling on one of these stationary bike stands.

The History of the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company

Saucony shoes have been around for 111 years. Founded in 1898 by four businessmen from Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the shoe company’s fortunes and merchandise followed the course of American history. The name of the company is a Native American name, which means “mouth of a creek or river”. The Saucony Creek runs through Kutztown, Pennsylvania, and the first Saucony brick shoe factory was built along its shores. The company has been loyal to its roots, maintaining the Saucony name (even though the company was bought out by a neighboring shoe manufacturer in 1968) and the Saucony logo, which subtly represents a river running over three boulders. Saucony began business by manufacturing children’s shoes, and by 1910, the company was producing approximately 800 shoes a day.

No discussion of the history of Saucony shoes would be complete without also discussing the history of a shoe store called A.R. Hyde & Sons, which bought the rights to Saucony in 1968. A.R. Hyde & Sons was based on the shores of another river – the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was run by Abraham Hyde who was a Russian immigrant and a cobbler by trade. Hyde began his business by manufacturing “carpet slippers”, which were shoes made out of scraps from old or unused carpets. These shoes were extremely popular in the area. In 1932, A.R. Hyde & Sons first began manufacturing what the company dubbed “pleasure skates”. These ice skates were the first “athletic shoes” ever produced by what would become the modern day Saucony. This line of athletic shoes expanded in 1938 to include baseball shoes, bowling shoes and roller skates.

The owners of A.R. Hyde & Sons changed their merchandise as history changed around them. In 1942, A.R. Hyde & Sons manufactured army boots for the soldiers in World War II, and in the 1960’s the footwear company made shoes for NASA. That’s right, the space boots worn by the first American astronaut to walk in space were A.R. Hyde & Sons originals.

Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company was dedicating itself to running shoes – a dedication that continues to exist today. Hyde eventually purchased the Saucony Company in 1968 and moved its headquarters to Cambridge. Saucony was largely a brand for a small but serious group of runners until 1977 when coverage in a national magazine brought the company national fame. The Saucony Company eventually moved again, this time to Lexington, Massachusetts, but it maintains its focus on high quality running shoes and meeting runners’ specific needs.

Want to know all about Divorce procedure

Author: <a title="jane baron" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'jane-baron/210458">jane baron

Divorce happens to take place because couples are not taking marriage seriously. Its responsibility of both partners to maintain good relationship for a happy married life. You both have to honestly work on it since you have joined this institution. If you are really serious about your relationship then I am sure there will be very least cases of divorce. Today in the western culture it is found that out of three marriages one goes on the cards of split. Divorce procedure is carried when you both are no longer prepared to work together, live together and not faithful to your commitment. Earlier the divorce procedure was easy and no complication was found. One can easily take divorce from his partner. But today the situation is not the same. It has become very complex and lengthy process to be carried out for separation.

Divorce is not to be decided by one party, both the partners must think again on adjustment and if no scope of settlement is seen then you can take further step. Settlement with mutual understanding can save your relationship. There can be many reasons of separation like entry of a new partner can lead to divorce procedure. Divorce creates problems for kids and children who are avoid of parent love and affection. When you are filing a complaint or petition, you have to state the reason of divorce for which you are filing a petition. Irrespective of all if you have decided to get divorce then the first thing you need to do is file a divorce petition in a local court. The person who has filed the divorce petition is called petitioner and your wife is called respondent.

To carry out complete Divorce procedure, you need a legal advisor like a solicitor who can help you in the proceedings. All these proceedings are critical and needs to be handled properly with the help of a legal authority. If you have children below 18 years, then a statement of arrangements needs to be drafted for children. This document is arranged to manage arrangements of children so that who will take care of them after separation and with whom they are to stay. When all the divorce documents have been drafted your lawyer will send them to both of you for approval.

In the divorce preceding the couples have to negotiate the terms and conditions of martial settlement successfully. The court will send a copy of arrangement of children along with divorce petition copy to your spouse for her consent on this matter. On the acknowledgment form, your spouse has to approve her consent for the preceding. At any point of time, you can stop the divorce procedure if you wish to withdraw. Divorce is the formal separation of a couple who are engaged in the beautiful bond of marriage. Your solicitor will help you to settle the case outside court if you wish to. If there is any hope of settlement, you can step further to save your married life

Hot Rods and American Muscle Cars

Author: <a title="jamiehanson" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'jamiehanson/61726">jamiehanson

During the 1950's up to the 1970's, muscle cars and hot rods dominated the world. Even females could not help turning their heads when slick vintage vehicle's drove by. Times have now changed but, the urges of wanting to see vintage cars, classic cars, hot rods, and muscle cars have not. People who have preserved these classic cars are very much appreciated within society. When these cars are out on the road people really enjoy seeing them. Hot Rods and Muscle Cars are ultimate private statements of the car's owner and legacy, which are proudly shown to everyone. You probably have seen them at the car shows, television, or even seen one passing by on the highway. How many times have you turned your head or even tried to speed up to get a closer look at one of these classic cars? The Hot Rods and Muscle Cars say much about what it is that makes America the proud nation that we are. Hot rods and Muscle Cars have been notorious being an attention-getting device for whatever group of people or enthusiasts they were encountering. Hot rods and muscle cars are a nostalgic part of our culture. Hot Rods and Muscle Cars come in many different imaginable shapes, conditions and modifications. The amount of customization that is done to the hot rod is an extension of builder's imagination or frustration of his sight on a conventional styling that represents a part or unique style of the builder. This is not a bad thing at all. An individual can draw from it as someone's unique perspective as to a new dimension on the life style in the US or any other country for that matter. The mere existence of the hot rods and muscle cars cannot dismiss the sense of pride in the country. To catch glimpse of the ever-popular hot rods and muscle cars, one just needs to go over to your local auto repair shop and ask them for information on any of the upcoming car shows in the area. Auto mechanics are forever mindful of the elusive hot rods and muscle cars from many years gone by. Most anyone in the automotive industry can be considered huge fans of the hot rod and muscle car. However fear not, there are those die-hard mechanics still out there that like nothing more than getting there hands on classic hot rod and muscle cars to rekindle the need to hear rumble of powerful engines, or else peak at the slick bodied vehicles from days that are gone by.

Saucony Shoes – Your Partner to Athletic Lifestyle

Author: <a title="m paulino" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'m-paulino/65908">m paulino

Are you planning to have an athletic lifestyle or looking for sports adventure? If your answer is yes, then a good planning must be taken into consideration. When it comes to athletic action, comfort is one of the major concerns. Let's take running for example. If you are planning to run every morning, you have to choose the right shoes for you. This is because if you run with the wrong shoes and with the wrong fitting, you cannot run well, you cannot perform well, and on top of that, your feet can get hurt and get injured. That would be the worst thing that can happen with your feet if you wore the wrong shoes. Another situation is, if you are going to work on your fitness training, and you wear the wrong shoes, you cannot last long because you can get very uncomfortable. This can be really annoying if you are not comfortable with what you wear. So the shoes are very important for athletic lifestyle.

This won't be much of a problem for you if you've done your research. If you go and search on the internet for perfect shoes for athletic and outdoor activity, you will find answers. One of the results that might show up on Google is the Saucony shoes. These shoes have been on the shoe industry for a very long time. These shoes come with the perfect cushioning, classic style, and right functionality for athletic activities. If you want to buy running shoes, you have to make sure that you have the right fitting. You can try the shoes and run on them before you buy them. Athletic stores that specialize in running shoes are used to customers jogging back and forth. This is to make sure that your feet will be comfortable with the shoes that you are going to buy. It is also important that you buy the right shoes for the right activity. For example you are planning to try cross country running; you should buy the shoes that are designed for cross country running because they should be durable enough to last with the long run.

Personal Training Using Sprinting?

Author: <a title="Scott Hunt" 'href="http://www.articlesbase.com/authors/'scott-hunt/217669">Scott Hunt

Sprint work can be a great way to add variety (for both mind and body), to your regular walks. Do the same walking routine as always, but add short sprints of about 50m (about every other letter box or some other marker), then slowly walk about 50m. This will get your heart rate up way higher than normal, which will get you even fitter and burn more fat. Plus you will continue to stimulate your body differently, which is an important part of interval training.

Interval Training:

It has been proven that your muscles and body will adjust to the same routines after a period of time and they will become less effective. Many athletes will tell you that they use interval training for consistent calorie burning, muscle toning and cardio routines. By mixing up and alternating speeds, types or repetitions of your routine, it will make your exercise routine a cardio, as well as muscle toning routine. Walking and adding sprints is the same as athletes that weight lift and then use the treadmill. It involves added muscle activity and increased cardio activity.

Sprinting Benefits:

Sprinting is a great tool for fat loss and sculpting hamstrings. It also helps burn a huge amount of calories while you are sprinting. Where normal walking or jogging burns calories for only a short time after the workout, adding sprinting can cause the metabolic rate to increase for days afterward. For this reason, it is recommended that you add sprint work to your routine at least two days a week.

Sprint Routine:

For the most effective sprint work, the 50m starting point is good for beginners and 5 sprints per session are recommended. As you progress in your routine, you can work up to 100m and 10 sprints per session for optimal training benefits. Walking at a brisk pace keeps the metabolism high, even though your activity level is lower. Once you have raised your heart rate and metabolism rate, the key is just giving it interval spurts to maintain the level.

Sprinting Form:

Arms should swing from the shoulder, relaxed and at approximately a 90 degree angle, coordinated with the action of the legs. Lean slightly forward and stay on the balls of your feet, not on your toes. The stride should not be overstretched, just let the center of gravity dictate the foot landing beneath you. If you over-stride, it will actually slow you down. On the other hand, you do not want to under-stride either, sprinting is a combination of stride length and frequency for optimal effectiveness. Professional sprinters will tell you it is better to run relaxed, rather than power sprint, for speed and distance.

Too Much Cardio Makes You Fat:

The reason sprint-work is good for your workout is that jogging, swimming and brisk walking alone is considered strictly cardio. Excessive cardio workouts release stress hormones that make you insulin resistant and leads to overeating the wrong foods. Where joggers and cyclists may appear lean, their body fat percentages are quite high compared to sprinters, who are lean and muscular with low body fat.

Sprint-Work offers Cardio Benefits:

Sprinting burns fat, increases human growth hormones and promotes weight loss and more stamina. Your cardio system is strengthened because of the short bursts, followed by longer, easy recovery times, which causes less stress on your heart than cardio workouts.

Adding Sprints to your normal walking or jogging routine will make you burn calories and fat quicker and helps you build muscle, too.
